Jinx: News

I am halfway through recording a new set of songs which will be up on the internet this Summer for everyone to hear. Some of these songs deal with the recession blues and current social commentary, others are more upbeat country rockers. Look for them in June.

I will be playing a special show for a wonderful new non-profit in San Diego on August 2nd. The proceeds will go towards feeding many of the areas hungry people by way of the San Diego Food Bank. Please come out and support this worthy cause, and bring a can or two of food to donate. It will be a fun night of music.

A fun Summer tour is being planned for September. I will be traveling with the fabulous Jezzebelle from Dublin and we will be kicking off the trip with a great show in San Diego. Then doing shows up the California coast, playing about a week in San Francisco, and gigging throughout the central valley. Hope to meet a lot of great new music fans.

I look upon the internet as a sort of necessary evil. On one hand I can get my music and stuff out to about half the people of the world, but at the same time for a creative person to sit chained to a computer for hours on end trying to make sense out of the programs is hardly creative time well spent. I recently discovered that my guestbook was hijacked by some sort of evil robot mail thing that sent hundreds of junk mails a day! Therefore the guestbook has been turned off until my administrator and I can figure out how to block the evil robotic advertising empire!

I will be back playing at a new venue. The AC Lounge is trying out a new Americana Sunday evenings series so please come out and listen. I will be starting around 7 pm and playing about 3 hours. Hope to see you there.

I will be doing a totally unplugged show at the very cool Hyperion Tavern in Silverlake next week. You will think you have been transported back in time to a speakeasy when you check this bar out.

I will be re-appearing in San Diego next week at The uber-hip Bondi Bar downtown so come on by.

I have an entire week booked in San Diego, including gigs at Lestat's the neww Bondi Club and The Tiki so please come on out and see the shows! Support the venues and musical artists.

I am booking a small tour of Las Vegas and San Diego for early December so watch out for me!

Only two more weeks for the protest song series at Kulak's on Monday nights. Check the video section for new videos every week and I hope to see you at one of the shows!

The Pickin' Party 2008.

Thanks to all who came. It was a hot day but a wonderful evening. The last campers left around 2 pm Sunday after a nice brunch! I had a great time sharing the day with everyone. Very special thanks to Marina for letting us use The Sky Ranch. Look for a Sky Ranch House Concert later this year! We had great music, food, and friends. Two expeditions on the river hike, and booze, blues and horseshoes . . . . you can't go wrong.

I just uploaded brand new video from Room 5 of my song "Suits Me Fine", including a hilarious introduction by a less than sober patron whom shall remain name-less at this time. I suppose if you get around in music circles you will know the identity of the mystery voice!

I finally got the website re-done with new videos, new pictures, new songs, new announcements and booking info. Take a look around and send me a message!

I met with a lot of fantastic non-profit organizations today and I am reaching out to donate my musical talent and time for any of their fund-raisers and events. So watch out for more fun benefits coming soon . . .

The musical road has many dangers for the creative souls brave enough to walk it. We lost two incredible musicians this week. Chris Gaffney and Danny Federici. I played my tune "If I Had A Song" with the families of these wonderful people in mind, at Kulak's Woodshed on 4/21/08. I will be posting the video this week.

I am finishing some new acoustic demos so I can shuffle my new songs onto the website and MySpace pages.
